La Paz Community School is nestled in between several unique communities along the central coastal region of Guanacaste.  La Paz students come from as far south as Playa Negra to as far north as Nuevo Colon (about a 60 km distance between the two).  The majority of La Paz students come from the towns of Potrero, Flamingo, Brasilito, Huacas, Villareal, and Tamarindo which each offer their own little slice of local and international culture. La Paz counts on support from local businesses to keep tuition low and accessible for many non-scholarship families in the area. The following businesses are considered Friends of La Paz as they have continuously contributed to the La Paz Scholarship Fund and/or Annual Fund. Please support high quality, community based, bilingual education by frequenting these businesses in the area.

Real Estate/Rental

Mar Vista Development (Brasilito):  Mar Vista has donated La Paz 2 Hectares of land worth well over one million dollars in order to jump start the capital campaign for new school construction.  A family run organization, Mar Vista has also began development of a La Paz community that will surround the future school facilities.  They have also committed to dedicating all commission from La Paz referrals to the La Paz Scholarship Fund.

Transportation (Rental Car/Air Travel)

Nature Air – One of Costa Rica’s largest airlines has partnered with La Paz.  Nature Air flies to mos every tourist destination in Costa Rica in a carbon neutral, affordable manner.  10% of all La Paz referrals (website and personal) are dedicated to the La Paz Scholarship Fund.

Adobe Rental Car – An environmentally and community friendly car rental company with competitive rates, Adobe Rental car has partnered with La Paz to commit 15% of all referrals to the Scholarship Fund.

Interbus – Interbus is a private national bus company that has regular service between all major tourist destinations and airports.  In their commitment towards sustainable growth in local communities, they have partnered with La Paz by contributing 20% of all referrals to the scholarship fund.

Hotels and General Services

Hotel Sugar Beach (Potrero) – An active steward of their local environment and community, this four star boutique hotel is located about 15 minutes north of La Paz on a pristine beach.  Hotel Sugar Beach has partnered with La Paz for over a year now and has been a monthly contributor to the scholarship fund.

CPI Language School (Flamingo) – Due to the fact that numerous students arrive at La Paz able to speak only one language, this local language school helps facilitate prompt language acquisition so that students are able to rapidly learn content in two languages.  $20 of all CPI referrals go to the La Paz Scholarship Fund.

The Jungle Gym (Brasilito)  – Our generous hosts who continue to regularly support La Paz, The Jungle Gym also acts as a state of the art work out facility for the general community.

Education and Adventure

CREA Institute (Tamarindo) - The CREA Institute (Costa Rica Education and Adventure) is a place-based, experiential learning center that focuses on providing the highest quality programming for international student groups. Each program is customized to meet the needs of visiting students, while maintaining core values: to provide an authentic, hands-on experience using the unique natural and cultural aspects of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. CREA strives to bring enlightenment to the effects of humans on our fragile ecosystem and instill a sense of personal responsibility in all participants.  CREA offers four unique programs: Learning Through Living (Science Focus), Learning Through Giving (Service Learning Focus), Pura Aventura (Adventure Focus) and Spanish en Viva (Language/Culture Focus).
