Why Is It Important To Recycle?

The Choice is Yours!

Have you ever wondered when you throw away plastic bottles, aluminum cans, white paper or glass where they will go?  They will most likely end up in the dump and sit there for years with no use at all.  Or even worse, this debris will end up on our beautiful beaches or other parts of our environment.  Plastic in particular does not break down easily and will remain as a hazard in the environment for hundreds of years.  The last thing most of us want to see on our wonderful beaches is trash.  The good news is that we can do something about it.
One thing we can do is to recycle the plastic, aluminum and glass bottles.  A big issue is plastic bottles ending up in our environment.  They may collect water which will provide excellent mosquito breeding grounds for dengue, a dangerous disease which can even result in death.
We are the victims of our own behavior regarding trash.  We use containers, then without thinking, throw them in the garbage, or worse, on the ground or in the water.  But we are also the key to fixing this problem.  At La Paz Community School we care about the environment.  We recycle plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass and white paper.  By doing so we save on energy and at the same time beautify our environment.  Everyone wins!
We would appreciate your joining our recycling effort.  Think of our environment: be a part of the solution rather than the problem.  Work with us to make our area more beautiful and healthy for us all.  We’re all in this together so let’s do our part and recycle.  We hope to see you here!
